Treasure Boxes

Treasure Boxes believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive, but thriving isn’t possible without first meeting the most fundamental human needs.
As outlined by Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, for a child to develop confidence, resilience, or leadership skills, they must first feel safe. They must be clothed, fed, sheltered, and protected. Without these basic needs, no higher possibilities - no healing, no growth, no hope - can take root. That’s why Treasure Boxes exists.
Treasure boxes focus on delivering emergency essentials, clothing, books, toys, shoes, toiletries, school packs, nursing and feeding equipment such as cots, prams and car seats to babies and children in crisis across South Australia. Whether they’re escaping domestic violence, experiencing homelessness, or living in extreme poverty, we ensure they receive what they need to feel safe, clean, and cared for.
This isn’t just charity. It’s trauma-informed care. It’s the foundation for healing.
They’ve chosen not to diversify into broader services, because they believe in doing one thing exceptionally well. By staying true to their core mission and collaborating with over 150 social service agencies and charity partners, they ensure that every child receives the right support at the right time. Their streamlined model allows them to respond quickly, effectively, and with dignity.
Treasure Boxes commitment extends beyond emergency relief. Through their Family Support and Crisis Relief initiatives, they continue to serve families in need navigating the challenges of war and migration trauma, loss of property, identity, security and recovery, often for little or no service fee.
Every day, they support vulnerable families across South Australia - those escaping domestic violence, facing homelessness, or living in extreme poverty, by providing their children with the essentials most of us take for granted: clean clothing, warm bedding, toiletries, books, toys, and school packs. These aren’t just items, they’re tools of empowerment.
A toothbrush means a child can go to school without shame. A backpack means they can learn alongside their peers with pride. A bedtime story means they can dream beyond their circumstances.
Treasure Boxes helps children face crisis not as victims, but as valued individuals - seen, supported, and equipped to move forward with dignity.
