We do this by donating clothing essentials to the wonderful charity, Backpacks for SA Kids, who then passes our donations onto children entering emergency foster care. 

Backpacks for SA Kids is a wonderful charity that I've worked with in various ways over the years. They do truly life-changing work to support children entering emergency foster care during some of the most uncertain moments of their lives.

When a child is removed from their home, often with little warning and only the clothing on their backs, they provide a thoughtfully packed backpack filled with essential clothing, toiletries, comfort items and age-appropriate necessities. These backpacks offer more than just practical support — they restore dignity, provide comfort, and help children feel seen, cared for and valued at a time when everything feels unfamiliar. Through their compassion and hands-on support, Back Packs for SA Kids make an immediate and meaningful difference for vulnerable children across South Australia. I’ve seen firsthand, through a close friend who is a foster carer, the impact these backpacks make when a new child arrives. Receiving one at such a vulnerable moment provides both the child and the foster carer with essential items, immediate comfort, and much-needed support, making an overwhelming transition feel just that little bit easier for everyone involved.
